Perfect Sailing Day

Mere words cannot describe the joy of ditching work and spending the day on the Bay. The rest of the crew spent 3 glorious days aboard WingIt. Thursday they sailed to Oxford, picked crabs (a Maryland tradition), had ice cream, then sailed back to the Marina Friday. They called me Friday night and told me to "get er dun" and get on the boat Saturday. It required almost an all-nighter Friday, but I was able to join the crew Saturday morning - an all nighter well worth it. Unbelieveable weather, wind, fun. I had forgotten how beautiful WingIt and the Bay are together.
Sh spent a lot of time in this state - "Napping" - a great sailing past time. That salt air makes you sleepy apparently...

Pop relinquishes the Helm when this baudy crew climbs aboard. We had perfect sailing - perfect wind, perfect company (see below).

Au did a lot of work - trimming sails, adjusting lines, generally jumping about. Here he finally got a rest from the work.

Who's this?? Could it be? Yes, Pop's best friend, Chessie, finally had her sailing debut!! She is the perfect sailor. She hung out in the cockpit the entire time. For the first couple hours we were rail down and Chessie just slid from side to side with little worries. As long as we were happy, and Pop had food, Chessie was in heaven. Better than being locked in the house alone all day. We didn't even make her wear her doggy life jacket. But we did tether her to the helm.

now HERE'S a happy sailor! He kept us out long past some of the crew's tolerance for day sailing, but hey, perfect wind, perfect weather and no work - why in the world would you bring her to port on a day like today??!!
