My Teenage Summer

Sigh, to be a teenager again. Nothing ahead but long, lazy days of summer. Pizza. Pools. Shopping. Video Games.

My attempts to turn them into gainfully employed and somewhat responsible individuals, not to mention kids who might be able to (rightfully) contribute to their band trip to Disney and the ski club, etc, was thwarted by The Boy Next Door. Oh well, choose your battles.

Instead they are hanging out, being kids (oh truthfully nothing wrong with that...), and hopefully not getting into trouble. They do have a staged English summer assignment. None of this "do-it-August-26th" stuff this summer - the English professor actually wants the paper done in pieces and I guess emailed to him throughout the summer. Smart man. So All the kids went to the library today to do the research part. Except the library was closed because there was no water.

What?

Yep, having a water main break issue here for a couple days. Boil the water. Don't drink it. Rationing at the local stores. Fortunately, I had stocked up last week before this hit and my brita pitcher was full up, so we should be fine.

Never dull, even in the lazy days of summer...

Sh said, while we were shopping, "What would you rather be without - power or water?" Hmmm. I chose power. You?
