Happiness is....

  • Dancing to oldies with your son
  • Fixing your daughter's computer
  • Watching your son play his first VARSITY rugby match
  • watching your daughter cross the soccer ball, over and over and over again
  • Watching your teens work together to figure out chemistry problems
  • Mashed Sweet Potatoes
  • The miraculous recovery of your mother-in-law
  • Sharing life and challenges with in-laws of all walks
  • Almost beating your daughter at tabletop football while waiting for diner food
  • Noticing that the dog DIDN'T eat the solid chocolate bunnies when she ate the kisses
  • Long chats with your mom and dad
  • St Patrick's Day flowers in the Foyer
  • Discovering that the Super Grouper at the Navigator really is outstanding
  • Cherry blossoms popping out
  • forgotten bulbs springing up
  • Taking Pictures of the Big Yellow Billboard you've heard about in songs
  • Sharing in your friends' delight over a successful Sweet 16 Party that took months of planning (and knowing you won't be doing same....)
  • Laughing with your daughter over life's little ironies
  • The Laughter of Sunday School children over your latest game
  • Sweet Potato French Fries
  • The joys and triumphs of your friends' and cousins' blogs
  • A teenage son who can't wait to take you skiing....

Yes, I have discovered that life is indeed happy. Oh it is not perfect. will never be perfect. But it is pretty darn good. Mother is improving, dad is adjusting, life is working out as it should. I wish some relationships were more pleasant, but perhaps in time they shall be. I am truly happy to share life with my children, my friends, my family, special people. Life has been very busy. We left the house today at 8:30am and returned around 7:30pm. In between we taught sunday school (all of us) played 2 soccer games, 2 rugby games, ate out twice, ran around. Then we came home to chores and snacks and homework and music and plans for the future and travels and dreams....

I am blessed. And thankful.
